Default Stupid question

Remember my 1st wrangler so dont facepalm too hard. I have searched but it just keeps pulling how to do this if there wasn't an issue.

Bought the car 1 week ago. Today is first day I decided lets take the top off. The rear window on mine zips from passenger to driver which I know isn't right and it looks like the stop clips on the passenger are missing. Previous owner probably just crammed it back on backwards after a mishap. I plan on trying to fix the zipper but in the meantime how can I take the entire top off safely without detaching the rear window from the top? My fear if I just unzip it right now without proper tools to fix it I won't be able to get it zipped back into place and it may rain on Monday.

Thanks in advance

You should be able to place both zippers up towards the top so you can just roll up the rear window best you can. If you have a couple small bungee balls (i run one around the rolled up window and through one of the slits in the top's frame) you can get the window to stay in place up there and carefully be able to pull the top down like normal, at which point you could remove the top entirely if you wanted. It might just be a bit bulkier than if you had totally removed the rear window. I only have a pos soft top for a trail top, but I'm able to do that on mine.

That dumb rear window is the biggest part of why I really dislike soft tops.

Thanks for the reply, I only have 1 zipper. previous owner did a number on this thing, the section for the zipper on the right is torn clean off with about on inch of frayed material. It is at the dealership I bought it at now for a handbrake issue and they are going to see if they can replace the top
