I see you guys are looking to get rid of your sahara flares. I have an a silver X and I'm looking for the silver sahara flares. Just got my jeep last night so I can tell you these are in great shape. Email me at tinman_2469@yahoo.com.

I was told by one shop that he can't do the grill, since it's plastic. Probably same issue w/flares.
Hot LineX + plastic body parts = mess.

For the front flares, use the small crosstip to push in the center of the small rivets connecting the fender to the splash shield in the wheel well. Once that pops in, you can pull them out. Then starting at the front and rear of the fender, pull up. That will pull them off the plastic clips.
To remove the splash shield, you will have to pull down on it to pop out the six plastic push pins.
Next, disconnect the fender light. Then unscrew the five screws holding the plastic fender frame to the body. At that point, use the needle nose pliers to pinch together the plastic pieces that hold the fender clips to the body and pull them out of the holes. You can see the front clips the easiest, the rest you can do from feel.
It would probably be easier to connect the splash shield to the fender with the plastic rivets while its off the jeep. What I did, was replace the rivets with a nut and bolt.
After that, reinstall the plastic frame, pop the new fender with the splash shield already attached on, and push in the pins for the splash shield. After you reconnect the light, it should be done.

The back fenders don't have the plastic frame or a light, just the fender and splash sheild, but those are the same at the front, repeat what you did for the front. It probably took me as long to type out how to do it as it does for me to actually do it.
Does anyone know the part number for replacement rivets?? Or where to get them?? I went to napa today but none of them looked quite the same. I assume they're probably not exactly reusable after removing them.

These are great directions, I just took off a fender flare this past weekend (to pop out some trail damage next to the door) and that all works. A couple additional keys to removing the flare - when he said "pull up", he meant it... not that it means pulling hard, but pull the flares straight up to the sky, not off to the side. Off to the side breaks them, straight up to the sky lifts them off their plastic clips. When putting the flare back on, take the clips off the Jeep first (needle-nosed pliers works but I used a pair of flathead screwdrivers) and attach them on the fender. Rather than having to weave each clasp around the clip, you'll just be pushing the clips into the holes on the side of the jeep.
