Tailgate question...
New member (but a long time Jeep guy) and this is my first post here. This past weekend I removed my rear bumper and spare tire carrier, and replaced it with a Smittybilt product. The new bumper has the swing away tire carrier.
My question is this...do I need to install one of the aftermarket panels over the vent on the tailgate? I never realized it was there until I removed the tire carrier. I see lots of other vehicles , but never with the vents exposed.
Do I need a cover...or is it OK exposed.
Thanks.

It's fine with it exposed, I just broke mine when I removed the stock carrier. Most people get those plates as a looks thing, even though it's hidden behind the tire 95% of the time

If it was my Jeep Ild cover it, I like the Poison Spyder cover.
Lots of choices out there without moving the license plate.

I did the spare tire delete, moved the plate, and moved the spare inside.
