Default Temp High but weird......

Hi my friends
Since 2 or 3 weeks ago my jeep start to show me 3/4 temp, usually is in 1/2.
The weird thing is when I move the jeep 5 or 6 meters the temp back to 1/2

First, change the coolant...... no changes, then the temp sensor..... and check the water pump (looks like new)

Professional scan..... no info.....

Any ideas? I really apreciate the help
I´m thinking replace the cylinder head gaskets.....

Cheers

No mention of changing the thermostat and making sure things are bled...no air bubble gremlins in there.

Well, typically the thermostat is one of the first things to get changed any time you're having a cooling system issue. It's only $30 or so and 15 min job maybe, and eliminates a very common culprit. Just have to make sure you get the system bled properly when topping off the coolant. Often times weird issues like what you're seeing are caused by air bubbles in the system. I just brought up the thermostat as you mentioned everything but.

There's a bleed valve on the thermostat housing. I'd prob just double check the system is bled before doing anything else.

Just noticed you're in South America. I don't see details listed in your profile for year of jeep. Look to see if you have a screw on the thermostat housing.

In that picture, the screw on the bottom left. That is what the newer 3.6L versions look like. If you don't have a bleed screw, would need to just make sure to bleed through the radiator cap.

That certainly does look like a worn out gasket. That's a cheap replacement you might as well replace it. I am not certain that would be your absolute source for your problem.

Mine actually turned out to be the intake manifold gasket. Along with the weird temp indications, it also had an occasional vibration in the entire vehicle--usually after setting parked for a while, but sometimes just as I was driving along. Would vibrate for 15, 20 seconds, then stop and run normally. The temp indications are because hot exhaust gases get into the coolant and hit the temp sensor. The vibrations are because coolant seeps into the cylinders, and interrupt proper fuel ignition.

As for bubble in coolant--not sure how one would have gotten there until after you started working on system, but search for videos on how to burp a cooling system.
