Default Thinking about buttoning up for the year..

Having watched temps drop thirty degrees in a few days Im starting to think about how Im going to button up the soft top for winter. I know theres still prob a month or two before I actually HAVE to, but Im just thinking ahead...

Im thinking of getting beeswax and going over the zippers, and maybe using a silicone spray (the lubricant not gasket maker) on all the rubber seals to keep evrything nice and ready for next spring.

Any other methods? How does everyone else do it?

usually I just spray it with 303 cleaner and give it a good wash while on the Jeep then let it dry and give it a good coating of 303 protectant spray and pull it off tuck it in it's little cheesy faux leather thing that it came in from the dealer and hang it up in the garage. That's about it and it's been good since.

Default Ditto.....

I pretty much do the same. Clean it good, wipe it down with 303 to protect it, and keep it
supple, then fold it up and store it in my garage for the winter. I will throw a bar of Irish
Spring under the tarp with it, because I'm told mice don't like the stuff. Tends to make it
smell pretty strong for a few days when I first dig it out in the spring, but if it keep rodents from making it home, I'll tolerate that.

I guess maybe I should clarify; I only have a soft top. So, mine is left on in the rain, snow, ice, etc, so on and so forth. My thoughts were to try and kep all prev mentioned things from affecting the functioning parts of the top (zippers, seals).

I feel kinda bad for you guys with dual top- I had that on my sahara, and got sick of walking around whichever top wasnt on the jeep haha! But to each their own..

Default Dual preferred

I wouldn't be without a dual top setup. It's nice to have a hard top for the winter when it drops to -40.
Mine just stays hoisted up on the platform for the summer, and the wife parks her car under it.
Plus I would like to think it will prolong the life of my soft top being able to store it high and dry for the winter.
Probably what you mentioned doing in your first post is about all you can do for it, and keep as much road salt and ice off of it as possible in the winter.

X2, Its barely not breaking 100 degrees in South Texas. This past month has been to hot to drive with the top down.
