For Those Who Ordered
Hey All:
Wondering: a)how much were you "required" to put as a deposit. b) if you financed, did you lock into a finance program when you ordered or when your car came in....big deal for me.... c) any issues, bad experiences. |
I put $1000 down and didnt do any of the financing till the day it was delivered and i made sure it was exactly as i orderd it....
1000 down is standard for the most part. also, you cant lock into financing until you atleast have a vin number
I only put 500 down, a good dealer shoudn't have a problem placing order with that.
I put 2k down and they said I could not lock the financing till it arrived, I wanted the 0% and they were not sure it would be avail when it came in. But it all worked out. now having fun.
Hmm...I just see a lot of ways for a dealer to rob me blind.
One dealer I went into wanted 2000 deposit. Then you show up and you don't qualify for the right financing, and its not the right car..... I am a really paranoid car buyer, I have been the victim of a bait and switch, and am generally cynical person, I think car dealers are out to get me. And they probably are. |
also, when you put your money down, had you all agreed on a purchase price.
Negotiated price and put $500 down at time of order.
Im a big believer in ordering from their internet sales. you can get a quote from more than one dealer and make your best deal there. I didnt put anything down on the second order. the first order went south when the dealership. ( stuart jeep of fla.) changed the price after arrival. definately get a price you agree on in writing before you put money down.
firedog, what dealer did you end up at . I'm in florida and am just super skeptical of everyone. i just want a dealer who will order me the car I want, at a fair price, and pull no funny business.
