Default Tie rod help!

So I took my jeep into the dealership at 7 this morning to have them check out some alignment issues. They fix a few things here and there, but not my alignment. They say my front tie rod is bent, and I'm curious what you all would think that entails and how much it would cost to fix. Any pictures would be great too.

Thanks,

NICK

If yours is bent so bad that you can't bend it back, I would look for a used one in the for sale forum or get an aftermarket one. You will probably bend the factory one again though if you've already bent yours.

They are easy to replace. You will need an alignment after the replacement. There are ways to replace them without an alignment, but if you have a bent tie rod it makes it nearly impossible.

Dealership prices? I'll take a wild guess, but there is no reality in my numbers. $275 total out the door.

We recently bent our tie rod in Moab and replacing it was pretty easy to do. The part from the dealership cost us about $130 and I'm pretty sure the only thing that needs to be aligned is your toe, which you can easily do yourself. Here is a write-up on how to do it

I bent mine so bad that it rubbed againes my axle cover. at the time no one made aftermarket ribs so I ended up going with factory.
