Default TPMS sensor not working?

I have a new 2014 JKU Sport and i had the 16" steel wheels and i bought some 2014 17" rims with mud terrains and had the sensors changed. The TPMS sensor light turns on i've check all 5 wheels and they all have 40 PSI. Do you guys have any suggestions? i'm all out of ideas.

They took out your sensors from the 16 steel wheels and installed them in the 17 alloys right? You are sure? If so they should work after driving awhile.

yea they changed the sensors from the 16" steel wheels to the sensors. they believe that the sensors maybe out of reach from the transmitter.

how long has it been? When i removed my wheels that HAD TPMS and replaced them with aftermarkets that did NOT have it, it took mine like 2-3 days to realize they weren't there! hehe

Does that make sense? They're on your Jeep where they were before, but now they're out of reach?

They should pick up as you start driving down the road. If not, something doesn't seem right.

I had sensors taken from the factory wheels and put in my new aftermarket. It took mine a couple of days driving 40+ miles each day before it finally reset. That was at 35psi for my 2009. I was afraid I had a damaged sensor. I was surprised it took so long.

Park ur jeep next to the old tires( the ones that used to b on the jeep). Like in ur garage. If the light goes off they didn't change sensors. The tires don't have to even b on the jeep for the. Computer to sense them

Probably wouldn't work. The newer sensor have to be in motion, saves battery and keep spare out of the readings.

OP, did you drive up to 20 minutes at speeds over 15mph?

Most tire shops have a TPMS programmer they use to check the sensors, and make the Jeep recognize the sensors.

Some will check for free; some will charge a small amount.

All your questions can be answered in a few minutes.

Right question to ask -- same applies when one simply replaces tires. The sensors need time. I can guess, but don't know exactly why.

That's very interesting, are you sure? The sensor in my 2012 spare reports when it is low.

In general, TPMS is going to be a real PITA in coming years when batteries in all these wheels start crapping out.
