It's just in the stems. You can either move the stems from your existing rims when you're getting new rims or I'm sure your Mopar dealer would happily rip you off... err.. I mean sell you a new set.

Don't you have to pull the tires off the wheels to get access?

Yes, you have to install (uninstll) the sensors from the rim without the wheel mounted. If you can just reuse the ones you have as transfering them shouldnt be a big issue. Buying new ones can be expensive, i believe DC wants about $80 each (and you need 5, dont forget the spare). If you dont use them you will get the light and dings every time you start your vehicle, if you can handle it then great. As for me, i can handle 4 dings, but not 5 so i keep mine.......for some reason my 09 JK pics up my spare too.

That is a rip off, i would find another tire shop. I know they are going to charge, but anything more than 5-10 bucks is seriously ripping you off, even that is expensive. I recently change mine out on my Gf's 08 avenger when she got new wheels and once i hade the tires off i think it took me all of 10 minutes to swap ALL of the sensors over. Thankfully I have access to a shop.

Yeah. The prics vary alot when it comes to changing them over. 4Wheelparts wanted almost $200 to switch them over, while Discount tire did it for the price of a few O-rings (Less then $5)

Anyone in the SOMD area know of someone that would do this at a decent price? My Jeep will be lifted when this is done. Plan is, drive it to the tire shop. Put it up on a lift. Remove stockers. Swap TPMS from my old wheels, install TPMS on my new wheels, mount and balance, then install big boy tires on Jeep.

YEAH YEAH, THREAD JACKED!
