Trailer hitch mount location: Different for 2d/4d?
My 2010 2-door Sport has four holes drilled in the frame near the rear bumper for accepting a trailer hitch. I bought a U-haul hitch and attached it, easy install w/o removing bumper, and hitch receiver comes out just under the bumper. For lights, I used a "no cut, no splice" plug-and-play style harness. Again, trivial install.
Thinking of getting an Unlimited now (special order 2011), and considering just getting the tow package from the factory at order time vs. just taking my existing hitch/wiring off the 2-door and using that instead.
Are the 2door/4door compatible in this regard? I.e. does the Unlimited (2010, or actually 2011) use the same bolt holes for hitch? Sure would be cheaper than ordering a tow package.
Does the tow package contain anything other than hitch and wiring? I've read something about a telescoping link of some kind... and maybe a computer flash to enable sway control.
