Transfer case question

I changed the fluid in my transfer case for the first time yesterday. Everything went ok, but I'm wondering if I put the drain plugs in too tight. Do I need to get back under there and loosen them up or should it be ok?

Thanks,

Phil

Eh... how tight did ya make it? Torque spec is 15-21 Ft Lbs.

Pretty tight. I could still tighten more if I wanted to but it would take a little strength. I just used a regular ratchet and I'm not sure how to measure the torque.

Thanks,

Phil

You need a torque wrench to measure torque. Really should have one if you're going to do your own maintenance. A good 1/2" torque wrench as this will come in handy with keeping the death wobble goblin away...

I will definitely get one for the next time I do it, but what about for now? I really don't want to take that skid plate off again but I don't want anything to get damaged either.

Thanks,

Phil

yup... this ^^

Check it for leaks a couple times.... if it's not leaking, then let it be.
