Transfercase differences

I can't seem to find a real definitive answer on this so I figure I'll ask and hopefully someone that knows with 100% certainty can tell me.
Will a stock transfercase from a manual transmission equipped JK bolt up to a stock JK with an automatic transmission?
If not, what is the issue? I'm sure the housing is the same so is the spine count different?

Thanks in advance:beer:

Bueller???

I'm doing a quick google search right now, and it seems as though the spline counts are the same, at 23 spline. So it should bolt right up, as I am assuming the case bolt patterns are the same. Info as follows. http://www.atlas-tc.com/install/jk.html

I am 90 percent sure they aren't comparable.

LOL, and herein lies the problem...

It seems like every time this question is asked, both answers come up. The reference to Atlas is strong so I tend to lean that way but the other post saying 90% no still leaves me questioning. Not 100% about it. It would be nice to have a 100%, without a doubt "because I did it and it bolted up," or "because I tried it and it did not work," would be a great reference to keep around so whenever someone asked this, they had the correct answer 100%.

If it was me, I would do it. Worse comes to worse you post a craigslist add and sell it.

The output shafts are different. You can change the output shaft and seal on manual if going to auto or auto going to manual. Other than that they directly bolt up. This is factual knowledge. Hope that helps.
