Default Uconnect module location on 2012

Hey Guys

Picked up a 2012 Arctic Edition and was having issues with the VR/Uconnect as it simply ignores voice commands.I have read through a few threads and have seen there seems to be many issues..brought mine into the dealer an was told software is completely up to date so they are going to replace Uconnect module.Just wondering if anyone can tell me where it is located on the 2012?Don't really want them tearing my whole dash apart to fix it..any help would be greatly appreciated.

The unconnected module is located behind the HVAC controls under the radio.

Ok,thanks for the reply. Not sure they checked the mic at all so going to start there.was able to take a call last night and used the VR to change stations..this morning I have nothing again,I'm wondering if the connection between the harness and the Mic is solid..worth a try.

I changed my head unit out and wanted my new microphone where the old one was. In the process of removing the uconnect mic I found there are several connections. One is behind the panel that you can access when you open the door the other connection is in the pillar itself. I hope this helps.

Thanks Leeper

I'm wondering if it's the mic and not the module as I have the USB port in the console and it works fine. The other day I was able to take a call and they could hear me on the other end, then tried VR to change stations and it worked.Next day ...nothing again!Hence why I'm think it's a bad connection somewhere or connectors not fully seated? Were you having the same issues?

No I never had any issues with calls or vr. The new head unit I got came with a microphone and I could not use the uconnect one with it.

It's intermittent...just walked me through voice training and functioned as it should.Get back in it and nothing using voice recognition working again..frustrating as all piss! Its a Jeep and that's why I bought it...6th one I have owned. But with new laws regarding cellphones ,would like to avoid being ticketed. You would think it would work or not work..not here and there!

Unconnect is integrated into the head unit. You need the jumper cable if you previously had unconnect in the vehicle.

Anybody chime in here..just returned from dealership and I told them the on my build sheet it shows integrated voice command with Bluetooth?Long story short they tore the dash out and made me sit there for 3 hrs only to come back and tell me there is no HFM module
installed!I have the 730N/RHR- by integrated my assumption is its built into the head unit meaning I need a new 730N/RHR?This unit does not require external HFM correct?
