Default Vulture ate my Jeep!

Spent the day at Everglades National Park. There is a problem with vultures eating the rubber seals and windshield wipers on parked cars. The park rangers leave out tarps to put over the top to keep this from happening. Unfortunately my little JK just seemed to be to delicious to resist. I come back to the car and find a vulture on the roof, he tore a hole in the tarp and was starting to eat the rubber seal at the top of the windshield where it meets the soft top. He got in a few bites so now I have to replace it. Can some one tell me exactly what that seal is called so i can start looking online for a new one. Like I said, it is the seal at the top of the windshield that seals the front of the soft top. Thanks.

I looked all through AllData and could not find that part name or number. I'll keep trying.

Thanks, it's probably under "Really expensive parts that should hardly ever need replacing" or something like that.

On older jeeps it was a windshield header. Still cannot find a diagram for a part number or item description.

You can download a JK Water Leaks Manual here:

It has your parts breakdown and part numbers.

Thank you, I will have to replace it and then figure out a "Vulture Proofing Plan" for my next trip.
