Default Waiting for our Rubi

Hi all, we've had a 2 door Sport since 2007 and loved it. Now we're waiting for our Unlimited Rubicon and I keep asking myself whether I'll be happy with a 4 door. The reasons for getting a 4 door are mainly to do with fitting all our camping gear in when we go away and more stability at high speed on dirt tracks. But I love how nimble our 2 door is. I've never upgraded our Jeep as I felt we would end up with a 4 door at some stage and low and behold we've finally ordered it. But I have this nagging doubt that I'll be sorry I didn't get the 2 door Rubi. I go out most weekends and the tracks that I drive are reasonably hard core (for a stock Jeep), and I often go out on my own. We've ordered the Rubi with ARB front bar and winch and a rear bar. We've also gone for the Mopar 2 inch lift. I suppose I'm just looking for some piece of mind that I'll be happy with it. Can you help ?

Thanks a million.

I'm happy with my 4 door Rubi, no issues yet just installed the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift and absolutely love it.
here is a picture of stock flex the week I got it home, and some before and after lift pics.
I never thought I would buy a 4 door because it wasn't a Jeep but I'm glad I did.
The ride is so much better than my old TJ, and the engine in the '12 is a monster compared to the TJ's 190 hp.

Default Nice looking car

We've ordered the Mopar 2 inch lift but I'm hoping they fit some coil spacers to offset the weight of the ARB bars and winch. I've asked the dealership to fit the lift after they get it back from ARB. The amount of flex you're getting is fantastic. Do you find you bottom out much with the longer wheel base?

Thanks for replying

I ordered a rubi mall crawler at the beginning of February and trading my rubi 2dr. I am having second thoughts, but it has more to do with chryslers inability to supply than my feeling for the 4 dr. advised dealer today that I am preparing to cancel my order now that 7 weeks has passed and no build date yet alone a ship date. good luck with yours.

I have both in my family.

While I love my 2 door. I have to say that my wife's unlimited is
very very nice.
We got her the 4 door for the same reason. we LOVE to camp a lot and needed the extra
room to haul all our gear and other people if we want.
The 4 door is better at towing too. it's a lot more stable.

you will be very happy in your unlimited.
it's a JEEP.
why wouldn't you be happy????

Default Rubi delays

We're hearing stories over here in Oz that there's a shortage of Rubi transfer cases but thought it was only affecting Jeeps meant for overseas?

You know, here in Australia, we have to pay approx double what you pay for them in the US. All told with all the extras we are looking at $AU51000. Still worth it though for the amount of fun we`ll have.

Unlimited Rubis in Australia are awsome out on the tracks. My mates with Toyotas and Nissans can't believe how well mine goes. You won't be dissapointed by the jeep. You will be disapointed by your local stealership and their customer service. But as you already have a jeep you probably already know this.
Cheers buddy.
