Water gurgling noise from dash. Sounds like JKU is about to have explosive diarrhea!
So it had been a few days since I have been in the JKU. Today I just went and sat in and started it for a few just wishing I could drive it but since I don't have a front bumper installed right now it wasn't happening.
Anyways, as I was sitting there not really paying any attention to anything in general I heard a noise like your stomach makes (kind or a growling/gurgling noise) right before you go blow it up. The noise continued and then started sounding like water running through a drain at your house. This was very pronounced and not hard to hear at all. I turned the Jeep off and let it sit a couple of hours then went and restarted and the noise instantly returned. Nothing I do with the automatic HVAC system changes it. Even if I turn it off it still continues producing this noise. Currently the JKU has 58 miles on it and is about a month old. I am thinking I either have some air in the cooling system or something not flowing right. Anyone else heard anything similar from their JK or JKU or seen anything from another post concerning this? |
It's either because you haven't updated your avatar or you let it sit without driving it too long!! :rotflmao2:
Dude, I have no idea but I hope someone can help you... |
Low on coolant? Is the overflow coolant container empty?

Coolent running through the heater core. I haven't heard of this in the JK before. If your coolent is topped up you may have a blockage in the heater core. My wifes old POS blazer had the rushing water sound when we accelerated. Was common for them.
I pulled the heater core lines and flushed water in the reverse direction as it normally runs though the core and a tone of shit came out. Was good after that and got alot more heat out of it. Just used a garden hose and ran water until it was clear. When it's all back together run it until it's at full operating temp and keep the coolent tank topped up as the system purges the air. Edit: just noticed you have a '12. Thought you ment 58,000 miles, not 58. You won't have buildup yet. Look for kinks in the coolent lines and keep an eye on your overflow. A couple heat cycles and any air should purge itself. |
purge your coolant system. youve got air in it.

Do u have a 430 or 730 gps? I don't know how loud it is but your hard drive boots up when u open the door.

I just bought my 12' JK last weekend and noticed the same sound the other day after I started it and left it idling. Looks like I'm going to have to take it back to the dealership already. What a shame, I hope it's nothing serious.
