Default weird noise!!?!!!

so i was at my friends house, and i go out to my jeep and start it up and pull forward about 15 feet to put some stuff in the back and i was letting it idle, and it was making like a weird like almost tapping, rattle sound, i really dont know how to place it but it sounded like the exhaust was rattling on something but it wasn't because i would be there then go away the get really loud, but so anyway i drove him and let it idle in my drive away for like 5 min and it didnt come back and tried starting it a few times, any idea???

with this description, sounds like to me just a cold engine and valves. it should go away when the engine warms up.

The Catalytic converter(s) are known to go bad...

Mine were replaced at 30k miles and sounds like your description

Try banging on each of the converters (cold) with your hand & see if they rattle.

The converter is one big expensive assembly with 4 canisters

I agree with this theory given your location, you can always try adding some slick50 next time you change your oil.

um its got 7000 miles on it, and i will check the cats, oil just changed with additive, um it could have been a cold valve since it hasn't done it again and it was like 15 degrees out, and the exact location where it was the loudest was like right in front of the drives door so that's near both loactions
