how much wheelwell room with the spacers on?
a 35'' probably will NOT fit without a lift kit.
2.5'' budget boost MIN to fit 35'' tires

Smile Good luck

You have to cut your fenders or get flat ones to start.I am cutting mine in the spring. Then try and find spacers for your springs. That might work with a little rub.Good luck.

Assuming you are slim then 35s will fit on a stock JK if driving on road only AND only you driving.

As soon as this changes, ie more cargo, more passengers or off-road flex needed, 35s will rub on the rear metal tub (not on the fenders), in which case a 2.5" BB or coil lift is needed.

Good topic. I'm also new to modifications. Ideally what I'd like to do is get a little more ground clearance for off road without adversely affecting the on road performance and handling. I was thinking flat fenders, wheel spacers and larger tires. I have 245/75 R16 on there now. How much bigger can i go without a lift? I DO go off road, but nothing extreme like Rubicon or anything, just places cars can't go like old abandoned logging roads in the Adirondacks

Exactly correct. I had 35's on mine for about a month, no lift, and only rubbed once while going over a large dip with 500lbs of dirt in the back. I installed a RC BB before I took it offroad, and then got some minor rubbing the in the rear, so I trimmed the fenders, and now don't have a problem. So it depends on your intentions, but if you actually 'use' your Jeep, you'll need a BB at minimum, and even then might get some minor rubbing at extreme articulation.

I have a 4.5" long arm kit for my 35's, don't forget to upgrade your rear tire carrier if you purchase a 35" spare.
