Default what is that noise??

let me start by saying that ive heard this noise before when i owned my 2010 challenger. when i had my chally, one day i took it to get serviced. car was off, and cooling down. at one point i heard this noise from the front end - sounded like a mechanical toy car motor (think about taking a remote control car, and manually rolling the wheels when its off...that sound) - which only lasted a few seconds (3-5). advised the service tech about it, they claimed it was a "heat shield"

so, today im sitting in the jeep at lunch (1PM) the past 2 days. jeep was not running, keys on pass seat, and the last time it ran was about 715AM when i get to work

so both days, that sound happened 3-4 times during a 35 minute time frame each day. yesterday it was abotut 60, and today about 50...so its not hot out

- is it a heat shield thats making that noise?

- why would it be opening / closing while the engine is off? normal to do that?

Take your glove box out, and look on the left side and you'll see the white plastic thing move. I read somewhere what it was but I can't remember off the top of my head. I think it was for the air vent or the radio, either way it's normal.

yeah, i jsut read that on another forum
i think it was a cabin air filter or something like

so at least its "normal"
i just dont get why it would keep adjusting / moving when the jeep and outside temp are cool

with the chally, i got it - car was cooling down at that point

ah well, it is what it is

thanks for replying!
