What Is This? And Why Is It Melted
Alright, this lil hard hose runs from the fuse box to the battery and then IDK? Neways I've got a check engine light and a melted hose. Picked it up from the Dealer and they say its not their fault. I'm not trying to argue that point at the time just trying to figure out why this happend and what it is. Info on the Jeep as follows: 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

It goes to the purge valve and looks to have been melted likely by the EGR tube that runs right next to it. The code will probably be a
P0455-P0457, all Evap system faults. I would just cut the melted section out and splice it back together with a piece fuel hose.

My is a 2007, so I but have similar. I am going to guess that they are vacuum lines or similar. It might be connected to Evap canister maybe. If it is, and it is leaking, definite code thrower. You might be able to cut just the bad part out and get a hose union (double nipple connecter) and repair it. If you do it, maybe disconnect the battery for a few minutes to rest the computer.
Yours look like it was melted by the line that is just to the right of it in the picture. Looks like you can see the ribs of the that lines heat shield. Why it could have been against it, no clue.
Picked up from the dealer, why?
Is it still under warranty? If so, just tell them that it doesn't matter to you about the who's fault, just fix it with the warranty.

Thanks Guys. Were gonna cut the bad part out and put a new section of hose with some hose clamps on it. (Pry woulda been the same thing the dealers woulda done neways) It was @ the Dealer because I had consigned it to them to sell it. They were unable to sell it and I ended up selling it myself. I will be leaving the JK community for the time being. I will continue to monitor the forums though and will hopefully come back to a JK or w/e else comes after the JK
