Default Whirring noise in transmission

So this started two nights ago while I was driving. At 2000-2200 rpm there is a whirring noise in my transmission. It doesn't matter if it is in gear or in neutral or if I have the clutch petal pressed. It is fairly loud and seems to get worse as I drive. It takes a little bit for it to start doing it when I start driving. After about 5 min of driving it does it the rest of the time I drive it until I stop. It does it moving or stationary. Does anyone have any idea what I may be getting into? I'm terrified to take it to a dealership fearing they make take me for all I got.
