If I do not replace that extra protector piece of plastic that is attached to the fenders. I removed it all today to try and reset it all since it was all wobbly because they weren't put on that great by the factory and i noticed there is hardly a point to the extra protective pieces in the wheel well, other than really to trap more dirt. Are you talking about the small piece covering the gap at the bottom of the flares? I'm thinking of getting rid of that too if that's what you mean.

 

Yes the part in the wheel well, front and back. it basically shields the engine i guess and is completely useless in the back. Not the fender parts but the wheel well protector.
