Default Windsheild bracket rust.....and......

Has anyone noticed the winsheild bracket torx bolts rusting?? I have not removed them to put the windsheild down, the paint is actually stating to bubble around the head of the torx, My Jeep has seen one winter and is about 10 months old with 13,000km's on it. I think it time for some warranty work, as well as the door latch thump that is now happening, and the soft top has just started making some weird creeking noises, due to the 2" black strap inside the jeep, above the back passengers has broken off and is flapping away

I don't have any rust forming on the torx screws yet. I live in Manitoba.
I did however rustproof the undercarriage of the Jeep myself with a 3m product. I Love the Jeep. It reminds me of riding a motorcycle and the freedom it represents. That said I do believe the quality of the parts used on it and all of the Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep products are sub par. Its unfortunate really because the Jeep in particular is an American Icon just like the Harley Davidson.
I would probably reserve judgment on the vehicle but I'm already having problems.
A pillar Leak, broken freedom panel latch, and somewhat of a poor idle condition that I can't put my finger on yet. Its 4 months old! I know its a completely different vehicle but the 2003 Honda Element I owned since new has had zero problems........I repeat.......Zero....nada....nothing wrong with it......not even undercarriage rust!

Too bad Honda didn't produce the Jeep.....sad to say but true!

I had mine in for the soft top problem they fixed under warranty no problem. All the other things should be covered also.

Try not to use this as an excuse to not come this weekend.

I apologize for the above rant. Just a little frustrated.

I had this, took off the brackets, realized the rust was coming from the bolt and not the bracket, I cleaned up the brackets and waxed in where the bolts sit, cleaned the bolts and put some grease on them.. looking good ever since. To me this is not worth bringing the JK into the dealer for.. they will likely make it worse or scratch something else in the process.

Yes. It appeared on mine before I reached 2K miles. As with racer above, it was the bolts and not the bracket. Removed, cleaned, treated with some rust inhibitor.

Default Windshield bracket rust

I have a silver Sahara and at 4 months old I noticed rust around almost all of the Torx bolts on both brackets. The silver paint was cracking in the corners of the countersunk holes. I simply touched them up with the Mopar touch up paint and I'm keeping an eye on them.
