Angry Windshield replacement ?

Thanks to a Log Truck, I need to replace my front glass. Actually it's my own fault for following too close but that's just between us, don't tell my wife, I've already told her it was the log truck's fault.

Any way, I'm fond of the grill logo behind the mirror, and the Lil' Jeep in the corner. Does anybody know if the dealer is the only way to get that stuff on my replacement?
I called the dealer and was quoted $400 for glass only (not installed).
Being lazy and hoping someone can save me calling 3-4 shops.
Thanks Guys/Gals

Well, that sure didn't take long! I had to replace a windshield.....and although I wanted the little logos as well, couldn't justify the price difference I was seeing like you. One thing to consider...and I know it's not the same, but you can purchase decals that look almost identical as the factory windshield. It's not 100% the same, but for the cost savings you might want to at least look and consider it. It's been years since I looked, but I know they are out there.

Oh, and to more directly answer your question, no, other suppliers can get that factory windshield, but it isn't any cheaper....or at least didn't used to be. Pretty sure it's still not.

I think I paid a little over 400 for the OEM windshield when I had mine done. To compare, I believe the aftermarket glass would have run me $280. I like the little jeep grill.

This won't help you now after the glass has been broken, but one of the better recommendations I received when purchasing my JK in '11 was to have glass replacement covered under my insurance policy. I was skeptical at first, but due to the angle of the JK's glass, they are susceptible to taking the full brunt of rocks/debris on the highway. I am on my 3rd windshield & have had each one covered by insurance, hasn't affected my rate at all (State Farm). I can't remember the exact amount every 6mo, but it has more than paid for itself, either having to replace each time, or a ticket

I paid $150 for non-OEM windshield, installed. Just couldn't justify extra $250 for the designs..... Meh, got used to it and don't even think about it anymore.

Paid around $200 for the windshield and less than $15 for the "JEEP WRANGLER JK Windshield Replacement Decals - Grill and Corner - Black" from Amazon. There is no way to tell the difference from the inside or outside of the glass.
I have the tombstone tweeters in my 2012 and I will ask the installer to let me put on the corner sticker before installing the windshield, it will make my life a bit easier.

Other than that, I'm happy to have saved about $200.

Default Whistle noise...

Regardless of which windshield you decide on, there is a potential whistle noise problem with the gap at the top. Suggest talking to the installer about taking extra effort to get the windshield centered with a bias toward a smaller gap at the top.

Filling the gap a bit with black silicone fixed mine, but obviously it's better not to have to.
