Default Windshield washer pump clogged?

Anyone know how to check and clean the windshield washer pump? Mine stopped working and yes there is fluid in the reservoir.

I had it happen to mine. Some sort of mold formed in the washer fluid and blocked the screen. It is really easy to clean. The pump is just pushed into the reservoir. You can pull it out and clean the screen. Be careful. Once you pull the pump the entire reservoir will drain immediately. I think you have to move some electrical connectors to get to it. Can't remember exactly and not near the Jeep now.

That was it. A bunch of sludge was caked around the filter. Took me a while to figure out where the pump was and how to remove it.

Is that normal? How long does it take you to go through a reservoir of fluid? Mine typically last 3-4 months.

I've never heard of this before and I fill up the reservoir maybe twice a year. Are you using a store bought product or are you mixing window cleaner and water?

I use a store bought product but I dont go through much of it. I can recal adding fluid 2 or 3 times over the past 4 years.

Default washer pump

Both my 2010 jeep jk and my 2011 jk have had this problem since new. If you try it again and again it works and the pump sounds like it is freewheeling.
