Default Windshield wipers detached from motor

My windshield wipers detached from stud that comes out of the windshield wiper motor that rotates and moves the wipers. I took the crowling off and put the drivers side wiper lever back on the stud, then the passengers side back on the stud. I don't see how they are held on the stud securely. Maybe I'm missing something that fell off. Seems like they press on but once you start the wipers, the levers fall off the stud again.
Anyone have experience with this?

The inside of the wiper has splines and small nub - press over stud and it will lock them from turning left or right, tighten nut and that should be it. Maybe post a picture of the stud? It could be damaged.

The wiper should snap right on. Maybe you need a new one.

Yes I havent tried to take my wiper arms of but general practice is lift the arm off the windshield to it standing upright then lossen and remove nut and pull (by way of the base of the arm [part thats still parallel to the windsheild] out/off the motor) arm off reverse to install

I am looking for the best wiper blades for my car. Does anyone have any good suggestion? I need them to last longer, and price is another concern.
