Default X 2 dr ?

I read in a mag today that you can't get the D44 in the 2dr unless it's a ruby. I 'm going to get a x very soon and want a 2dr auto with tow package because i want the D44 rear.

Is the Mag. wrong?
Everything else i have heard was that w the tow pack you get the D44.

my '08 "X" has the D44. I don't have the towing package or anything, from what I understand all '08's have the D44 rear axle.

All JKs, 2 or 4 door, now get the dana 44 in the rear. Whether X, sahara, or rubi, u get the 44. The front axle is only different on the Rubi where you also get a 44 instead of the 30 on the X and sahara. They stopped using the 35 towards the beginning of this calendar year.

They are wrong. Just got my X last week and it had a D44, base model no tow pkg. Nice surprise!

I read somewhere (maybe here) that they basically ran short of D35's, but I don't know how reliable that info was.
