Default 8 speed auto transmission

Are the 8 speed auto transmissions in the Rubicon 2019, 3.6 and the 2020 3.6 the same transmissions? I noticed on the window sticker for a 2019 it is referred to as "8 speed automatic transmission $2,000. On the 2020 window sticker it is listed as "8 speed automatic 850RE transmission $2750. Tends to make me believe something is different between the two.

I'm not positive, however, they are playing with the price of the 4 cylinder in order to make it more attractive to buyers. In 2019 the 4 banger was an option, around $1000 or so, but in 2020 they removed the extra charge, reduced the price of the auto transmission by around $1000, so if you take that 4 cylinder with an automatic you get a the package for $1500. I don't believe the increase in transmission cost for the V6 is anything more than a way to raise the price on that engine package and push the 4. IMHO

Only issue with the turbo 4 banger (especially in Canada) is good luck buying premium when one is up in the sticks wheeling. Lucky to get flammable regular. They should have designed and tuned it for regular like Ford Ecoboost did.
