Lockers only in 4-Lo???????

Everything I've read on the JL Rubi says its axles can only lock in 4-Lo, which would be a non-starter for me. Then, I'm reading in forums everyone says the JK worked that way too. I'm saying no way, I have been locking the diffs on my JK Rubi in 2-Hi and 4-Hi since 2007 -- and I can tell for a fact that it works for doing donuts on hard wet sand, etc.

What's true????

Fairly certain the JK would not allow lockers to work in 4HI (at least my 2011 wouldn't).. this is why folks with JKs would do bypass wiring.

You are the first one I have seen in 10 yours on JK forums who says the JK lockers will lock in 2hi and 4hi without the relays being bypassed.

* mind blown *

I know there is a simple by-pass method of wiring in a couple of switches. The Superchips Traildash lets you lock in 2hi or 4hi also.

Is this a solution for JL owners too?

One can tell if the diff is actually locked by the solid lit (not blinking) LED on the switch.
:beer:

Quick Test: Shift into 4lo, engage diff locks. If lock led's blink, roll a bit while making a slight turn to engage. With lock led's solid on (engaged), shift from 4lo to anything else -- Diff locks disengage, and will not engage.

If not, it will be soon. SuperChips was working on it last time I checked.

looks like they have a cheaper TrailCal that will do it all now...

Been a peeve of mine for the ten years I've owned my JKUR. Yesterday we awoke to over a foot of heavy, wet snow, even more in our long driveway. My '13 F150 has a factory e-locker in the rear diff and I was able to get good traction out to the street by locking the rear in 4hi. The JK usually stays in the garage in winter, but I needed it out in case someone in the 'hood needed winching. Being able to lock up in the situation would have been a big plus. I have an sPod that I have considered adapting to a locker override. Issue is sPod switches on negative, Tru-Loc diffs switch on positive. A relay solution is possible.

There are some JK relay & switch workarounds that as mentioned will most likely work on JL.

My Xterra is the same. Has to be in 4 low for the locker to engage. Never had a problem with that thou. The raptor you could use anytime I think up to 60mph or something crazy.
