Default 2018 Jeep Wrangler Will Have a Manual Transmission After All

Looks like the manual Wrangler will be back for another go around...

Although I believe it will have a manual transmission, I'm not sure that someone peeking into a test mule really counts as verification on what the production model will offer.

If they don't offer a manual transmission then they won't be able to charge $2,000 for the automatic.... so my bet is they keep the manual.

They'll still charge you for it but it will being included in the base cost of the vehicle and not listed on the sticker.

With the way things are going nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if our wranglers started coming with Automatics only, with an upcharge for paddle shifters!

I would like to see the selling statistics from Jeep themselves on how many Manuals vs autos they sell.

Although the statistics may be lower every year, I'd wager that the Wrangler still sells a higher percentage of manuals than most other truck/SUVs.
