Thank you everyone
I am doing ok, very tired with swollen legs, but otherwise ok.
April & I went away for 3 days for our anniversary. BOY did we need that. I couldnt walk around much as my legs hurt from being swollen, but we did ok. It was a nice break. No kids & no worries for a while was awesome.
But back to reality now.
Go see the surgeon tomorrow & hopefully will get good news from him regarding the surgery. I dont know if i will get an appt. or not tomorrow, but hopefully I will at least find out thier decision.

Well, good and bad news from the surgeon.
He is going to do the surgery, but has reservations about it. He recognizes that the one tumor is growing despite the chemo which leaves me basically no options. Therefor he will go ahead with the surgery.
The tumor in my lower lobe he thinks he can remove with a wedge resection. Basically taking as small a slice of lung as is possible.
The one up near my heart is the problem. He is going to try a wedge resection, but may need to remove the entire upper right lobe to have the surgery be succesful. Problem there is i am already missing the upper lobe of my left lung from the previous surgery. I am running out of lung. He thinks he can do the surgery alright, even though it is in close to the blood vessels, just not sure until he actually gets in there how much he will need to remove to do it.
I have fluid around my lungs and heart, before they do any cutting on my lungs they will be testing that fluid to be sure ther is no desease in it. If there is, the surgery will be summarily cancelled and i will get sent home. I wont know any of that until the day of the surgery as they will test that fluid while i am being prepped in the OR.
Surgery is scheduled for the 24th of this month.

Well, Ken I pray that you will be able to get the surgery and it will be a success. God performs miracles everyday. It is a miracle in and of its self that the surgeries are even possible. It wasn't so long ago that cancer in the lung was an immediate death sentence. Now, at least you have the hope of surgical resection.
God will meet your every need. Trust in Him as the great healer. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

First post but hopefully helpful
Ken,
Hello. I'm new here. This is actually my first post. I thought my first post might be asking some question about buying a new Jeep since I'm looking and I've been silently looking at this forum for a while now and signed up this weekend but I find myself on your thread.
Let me say, that I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. Cancer is very near to me. My father fought it first w/Lung Cancer when I was 16 and then passed from a Sarcoma due to radiation treatment for the Lung Cancer when I was 32. My mom has been fighting ovarian cancer for the last 7 years.
As a result of all this I've done my share of surfing for crazy alternative cures etc.. anything that might sound plausible. I find the occasional possibility but normally nothing earth shattering. I also have some health issues and came across the link's I'm going to post on a men's health board I frequent.
Possibly you might look into it if you can. Read it and decide. I am in no way involved in the institution that did the study or in the link I'm posting. They are a valid cancer treatment institute based in Canada. I live in Dallas Texas
I just thought it's something worth looking in to. No matter what you do, I wish you the best and I'm cheering you on in your fight. It's a war I know you didn't ask for.

This is the cancer center in Canada that uses the approach from the link up above.

I will also say that I think it is possible you could do this treatment on your own as the simple substance is obtainable over the internet for research purposes but I'm sure you'd feel better going to a Dr. and I would in no way recommend treating yourself. That would be a choice you would have to make.
