How do you guys go about attaching the cubes to the GR bumper? I have a solution but I'm not entirely happy with it.

Drill a hole, use a carriage bolt and nylock nut with the factory mounting hardware.

What is on the top corner of the windshield frame on that jeep? I have a dent right there, and whatever that is looks like it would be the perfect solution.

Karl is mostly right, those plastic corner guards are included with most racks that tie into the body instead of just the hard top. Its just stuck on with adhesive. This one in the picture I posted is from a Gobi Stealth Rack
