Islander Is Back

The 'Islander' moniker has made a return to the Jeep lineup for 2021. The company recently announced the arrival of the newest iteration of the beach-themed Wrangler, as well as a Renegade. And although much of the continental United States is still dealing with less-than-favorable weather conditions, the new Islander Jeeps hint at the prospect of a much-needed spring break vacation.

Based on the Sport S

The Islander nameplate made its debut with the 1988 model year Jeep. And it has made appearances in subsequent generations. Similar to the JK's Islander variation, the JK will be based on the Sport S trim. The nameplate brings special-edition features that differentiate it from the high-production Wrangler it is based on.

Custom Features

The custom touches for the Wrangler Islander include Tiki Bob hood decals, 17-inch Rubicon wheels, and a white three-piece hardtop. On the inside, the Islander is distinguished with custom stitching in the cloth seats. Opting for the Plus Package brings in grab handles, a cargo tub liner, solid sunbonnet, and a Tiki Bob soft spare-tire cover.

Summer Renegade

The Renegade Islander receives similar visual cues to the Wrangler. Tiki Bob hood decals, and a white roof, and an optional Islander Plus interior package come with the smaller Jeep. And the wheels are 19-inchers for the Renegade Islander.

Available Now

Infotainment systems with the touchscreen with Uconnect 4 and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, as well. The Wrangler Islander is available in ten fun paint options, including Chief Blue, as seen above, Snazzberry, Firecracker Red, and Hellayella. For the Renegade, there are four color options:  Bikini, Jetset Blue, Glacier, and Omaha Orange.

These special-edition Jeeps are available at dealers now, with a $27,430 starting price for the Renegade and $33,370 for the 2-door Wrangler.
