About the series

Jeep recently wrapped up a six-part web series that paired celebrities with professional customizers to see who can trick their Jeep out best. The six-part web series, hosted on Jeep’s website, featured celebrity contestants like The Infatuation’s Andrew Steinthal and Chris Stange, SiriusXM host Maria Menounos, and former MLB all-star Alex Rodriguez. Heck, it was even hosted by former NBA player Jalen Rose! They were paired with celebrity customizers, if you will, to see who can trick their 2018 Jeep Wrangler out best. Steinthal and Stange of The Infatuation were paired with Stefano Loria of AutoCraft NYC, Menounos joined with David Tonapetyan of DCD Customs, and A-Rod worked with Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs.

Two heads weren’t necessarily better than one

Taking third place in this customization competition was The Infatuation and AutoCraft NYC. The team worked hard to realize Steinthal and Strange’s royal blue Wrangler / four-wheel drive ice cream truck concept. But ultimately, the dream of winning melted away as the ice cream that was served was super (super!) soft.

A-Rod’s futuristic Jeep concept

While Rodriguez may not have won the competition, he certainly put forth a great effort. He outfitted his vehicle with a super impressive sound system and even a cigar humidor that sat between the front seats. Additionally, A-Rod and West Coast Custom’s car featured a slick matte black-wrap, custom grill, LED lighting, iPad Pro embedded on the dash, and supped-up wheels and tires. All told, this concept was good enough for second place.

Maria Menounos’s four-wheel dog pad

Popular SiriusXM Maria Menounos host beat the rest of field with her dream Jeep Wrangler, which featured noteworthy features like a dog bed, treats holder and, believe it or not, a makeup compact on the steering wheel (Say what?). Her customization partner, DCD Customs, did some serious work in transitioning the original Wrangler to a light blue concept that even involved modding it to a two-door vehicle to fit the aforementioned dog bed. For the team’s effort, Menounos gets to keep her customized Wrangler.

What's the point?

If there’s one vehicle out there in the market that owners like to customize, it’s the Jeep Wrangler. The company recognizes this and wanted to create a series that celebrates all of the different (and in Menounos’ case, extreme) ways in which a Wrangler could be updated and/or customized to reflect the unique personality of its owner. Granted, not everyone has access to a celebrity customizer, but the purpose of the series is to spark the imagination. And judging by the viewership of each of the five-minute episodes, it certainly accomplished this goal.
