Multi-Faceted Build

When it comes to building a Jeep, there are many different directions you can go in. From a daily driver to a hardcore off-road monster, and pretty much everything in between. But in the case of JK Forum member BlueBaby, the goals with this JK build were multi-faceted.

Built In Limitations

Like many builds here in the forums, this one started out as a bone stock Jeep. BlueBaby bought it brand new with the intentions of turning it into an overlander. But since it was also his wife's daily, things could only go so far.

Parts Galore

With that said, there was already a slew of parts sitting in the garage and many more on order at this time. Pretty much everything you'd want on a serious off-road machine, including a host of suspension and body mods.

Interesting Choices

The first parts to go on, however, were the rock sliders and front and rear bumpers. We were also intrigued by BlueBaby's wheel choice - a set of orange-painted steelies that scream old school.

Tearing Into It

The next step was to tear into the suspension. BlueBaby first tore down the front axle and removed it, followed by the rear. Then in went a Teraflex CRD60 for the rear and Tera44 up front.

Making Space

With the suspension work wrapped up and stock fenders replaced, there was now ample room for the massive new rolling stock.

Mild Wheeling

And just like that, this awesome JK was on (and off) the road. It's maiden off-road voyage took place in the Ouachita Mountains, the perfect place for some mild wheeling.

Up to the Task

With a couple of successful test runs completed, it was time to really test the limits of this build. And the Jeep proved to be up to the task with a couple of stellar outings.

Taking the Punishment

The couple dove in head first and really pushed their build to the limits, but it responded by performing perfectly.
