The Annual Jeep Beach Bash is the Best Way to Kill a Summer Weekend
Jeeps and sand go together like pineapple and coconut, so here's a great excuse to book another summer vacation. Hop in your Jeep and head to the annual Jeep Beach event in Florida.
1. Jeep Beach 2017
This year marked the 15th straight year that the Mid-Florida Jeep Club hosted the Jeep Beach event in Daytona Beach, Florida. Four Wheeler was there to capture all of the action as thousands of Jeep fanatics flocked to the shoreline to bask in the glory of summer, not to mention participate in a host of fun activities. As you might imagine, the sheer variety of Jeeps in attendance was immense. One of our favorites was this 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon J8 pickup conversion. The custom ride rolls on 37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers and a Rock Krawler Suspension, with 4.88 gears swapped in for good measure.
2. Beach Cruisin'
The main draw of Jeep Beach (and Daytona Beach in general) is that it gives Jeep owners a chance to drive their beloved rides on the actual beach. Most found it easy to navigate without having to use four wheel drive, thanks to the hard packed sand. These days, it's getting harder and harder to find places you can cruise along right next to the crashing waves, well, without getting in trouble for doing so, anyway.
3. Show Worthy Jeeps
When you get tired of cruising around on the beach, simply stroll down the sand on foot and check out all the awesome rides in attendance. Like this sweet 2010 Wrangler sporting a freshly swapped Dynatrac ProRock 44 front and ProRock 60 rear axle set.
4. Not Just Your Average Jeep Gathering
The quality and variety of custom Jeeps on display at Jeep Beach is what sets the event apart from other gatherings, other than the setting, of course. Even some big wigs from Fiat Chrysler Jeep were there and sent down a number of concepts to join in on the fun. Best of all, the success of Jeep Beach has helped the Mid-Florida Jeep Club raise over $250,000 for local charities since its inception.
5. Rock Crawling Action
If you get tired of staring at awesome rides and beautiful scenery, you can also head on over to Daytona Speedway for fun events like rock crawling. This 2006 Wrangler, fitted with 42" Maxxis Trepador tires, a long-arm suspension, and 1-ton axles made quick work of the man-made obstacle.
6. Muddy Trail Time
If you're more of a fan of mud than rocks, Jeep Beach had plenty to offer as well. Those who arrived early were able to spend some time navigating the sloppy confines of Florida Cracker Ranch. All weekend, an obstacle course presented visitors of the Daytona Speedway infield with a little bit of challenging fun.
7. Vintage Show Stoppers
Even if you forgot to pack your sandals or mud boots, there was plenty of cool stuff to see at the speedway as well. This monster CJ, with diesel power and Rockwell axles, was particularly interesting. If that isn't your cup of tea, it was flanked by hundreds of vendors, good music, and tasty grub. We can't think of a better way to spend a summer weekend, or an entire week!
