Your Guide to Toledo Jeep Fest 2019

Come one, come all

The festival that hosted Jeep-loving guests from all across the country as well as Canada and Mexico will return to Toledo on the weekend of August 9th. The weekend-long event will have all Jeep centered things such as a parade, car show, entertainment in addition to a variety of food trucks and vendors selling merch. 

The newest Jeep model

Jeep Fest this year won't just be a celebration of the past and present but also of the future since the all-new Gladiator pickup will be on hand for brand devotees to pour over. In fact, the Gladiator was actually designed by a Toledo native and is being manufactured at the town's plant. For those who may now know, Toledo plays an important part in Jeep's history as it now the only place in the world making the Jeep Wrangler.

Good things coming from Toledo

The Toledo Assembly Complex is one of the region's largest and most modern manufacturing plant. Former assembly plant worker Skeeter Oliver said that he's proud to see Glass City preparing to celebrate its history. “It’s worldwide, wherever you go, there’s a Jeep! It doesn’t matter, you go to Canada, you go to South America, there’s a Jeep,” he said.

Getting the weekend started

If you are planning on making the trip to Toledo for Jeep Fest, here is the schedule thus far per the ToledoBlade:

Friday, Aug 10

Off-Road Course Welcome party running from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Superstore. Folks will be able to drive on the dealership's 18-obstacle off-road course in addition to enjoying live music and gift giveaways. 

Kick-off concert at about 6:15 p.m. with folk band Oliver Hazard. Then at 7:30 p.m. KC and the Sunshine Band will headline the show with the tickets costing $10.

Day 2

Saturday, Aug. 11

Getting Saturday off on a good foot is the SeaGate Convention Centre All-Jeep Car Show and All-Jeep Parade. Unfortunately, the registration to participate in the Jeep Show and Jeep parade is already sold out. The SeaGate Convention Centre is located at 401 Jefferson Ave and will go from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The route for the parade will begin at Summit Street and will end at the corner of Jackson Street and Huron Street.

Day 3

Entertainment for Saturday:

Promenade Park

Funk and soul band, the Infatuations will perform at 12:30 p.m. Rock band Amelia Airhats will go on at 2:30 p.m. Then at 4:30 p.m. local country rock band Kentucky Chrome will play. 

Levis Square

Athens Wheeler, a local rock R&B band will perform at 12:30 p.m. Then at 2:30 p.m. The Villians, a local rock and cover band will perform. 

SeaGate Convention Centre 

Local rock artist Johnny Rodriguez will perform at 12:30 p.m.

Hensville Park

Dueling Pianos Under the Stars event will happen at 7 p.m.

Day 3

Sunday, Aug. 12th

There be another showing of the All-Jeep Car show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Promenade Park 

MAS FiNA, a cover band that covers multiple genres will perform at 10:30 a.m. 

SeaGate Convention Centre

The Storms, a local band that performs rock and roll classics from the ‘50s and ‘60s, will perform at 11 a.m.

There will also be a 4-mile run and 1-mile walk that will be put on by Run Toledo. The 4-mile run will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the 1-mile portion starting at about 10 a.m.

That's all for now

Parking for the weekend will be spread throughout town in different downtown garages. The Jeep Fest director Whitney Rofkar says that street parking downtown will be largely unavailable during the weekend. Rofkar remarks that guests should come early to downtown to get any possible street parking before the parade begins.
