Photo Collection Captures Rich History of Jeep

There’s certainly no shortage on great American history when it comes to Jeep.

In fact, one could easily argue that Jeep, which is revving up to celebrate its 75th Anniversary, has one of the most storied legacies of any car company in the world. Here at JK Forum, we’ve certainly spent a great deal of time covering and rediscovering interesting past tidbits about the brand. And yet, a photo report pulled together by The Atlantic provides a much deeper perspective on the history of the American nameplate.

From a 1941 image capturing female employees working on a Jeep assembly line at Willys-Overland Motors plant in Toledo, Ohio, to a Vietnamese Marine Jeep carrying a wounded man in 1968 out of the thick of battle, words really don’t do the pictorial justice. Altogether, there are 29 historical Jeep photos featured in The Atlantic piece, and it’s one of those things you just have to view in its entirety. And we highly recommend that you do.
