With all the talk of recalls and hacking, it’s good to hear some positive news coming out of the Jeep camp.

Then again, record sales have sort of become the norm for the brand.

In fact, Jeep is being credited with helping Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) improve its global earnings for the second quarter and contributing to a 69-percent increase in net income, according to an Auto News report. In July, Jeep sales increased 23 percent, which the company reports is the brand’s best July sales ever and its 22nd-consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.

July’s sales record was led by the Patriot, which posted a 22-percent increase compared to last July – the largest year-to-year increase of any Jeep model. However, the Wrangler, Cherokee, and Compass also posted their best July sales ever. The Grand Cherokee saw a sales increase of five percent, its best July in 10 years. The Renegade saw a 30-percent sales boost in June, too.

It all pretty much confirms that Jeep certainly is carrying its weight as it relates to FCA’s bottom line.
