Looking Forward by Looking Back: Jeep’s 75th Anniversary

Jeep recently celebrated its 75th Anniversary at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. While it gave Jeep fans and future buyers three special edition vehicles, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles also offered a look into the past.

Historian Brandt Rosenbusch and Head of the Brand, Mike Manley, took a look back at the heritage of the marque and reflected on what it means to be Jeep.

The first Jeep rolled off of the assembly line in Toledo, Ohio in 1941 and revolutionized off-road capability. In its 75 years, Jeep has given us ingenious designs, capable features, and Trail Rated ruggedness.

After proving itself on the battlefields of World War II, Jeep’s reputation created new admirers and new owners, according to Rosenbusch:
