Thumbs up JK + Kayak

What's up everyone. Here are some pics of my latest mods to my JK. I added a sport cage rack for the kayak and I did the bedliner grill because I really liked that mod on some other jeeps in the forum.

One nice kayak. Too bad you couldn't get one in bright safety green.
I really like your kayak mount. Where did you get that?
My daughter and friend are in the orange tandem. I'm the old guy in the yellow.

Here is my Sahara half way through a 1400km drive to the Bay of Fundy with my Kayaks. I have a Congo Cage with Yakima rollers. The only complaint that I have is the wind noise is a killer on the highway. I ended up wearing my noise canceling headphones on the way home.

Hey Octo - Did you actually tie to the loop on the hood? I was trying to decide if it was glued on like the nipples of if it would actually work as a tie-down point. Thanks!

My daughter and friend are in the orange tandem. I'm the old guy in the yellow.

I bought the TJ sport cage rack from quadratec. It is a yakima rack that I had to modify it's setup. The JK roll bar is too wide in diameter for this rack to fit correctly ontop so this is what I did.
On the back cross bar, you need to unzip the rollcage pad and attach the clamps onto the smaller tube inside, under the padding. On the front, you need to take out the plastic channels above the front doors, and the mounts have to be turned around so they don't hang out of the jeep, rather sit inside the roll cage.
It worked really well without any cutting, drilling or changes to either the rackk or the truck. This is a fair weather rack so it has to come off for the top to go back up.
