TJ Crawler doll build
Got my daughter a 97 TJ for her 18th birthday. And now it's her 19th bday tomorrow and while she is away until August I am starting to build it up. First up, front and rear recovery points. Next up 4" lift kit with springs, shocks, lower control arms and transfer case drop spacers. I think this should be a good starting point.

That's awesome, I hope to be able to do the same one day. I have two daughters, 3 1/2 yrs and 15 months, I have a ways to go, but the 3.5 year old always asks to ride in "the jk".

The sad thing is I got her a 4" lift for her birthday and I'm still sitting on a 2.5" bb with shock extensions
They grow up fast. My middle daughter just turned ten. I remember she used to cry if I drove her to preschool and the top was on and tell me to take it off repeatedly. Even if it was raining. Lol

You need a SYE kit with that 4" lift, dropping the tcase won't be enough. I did a drop tcase and MML on my TJ with 2". If you elect to go with a MML, spring for the higher dollar mounts. The lower ones, some brown dog bottom line they offer, transferred ALL vibes through the chassis to where only 2k rpm was a quiet, harmonic ride. I also had to cut the fan shroud slightly to accommodate the MML but it was an easy install.

I've got a couple inside lines on them if you have questions. Lube the rear track bar nut (axle side) now if you ever intend to replace it (you will). You'll have to drop the gas tank and skid to get to that bolt- so while you're in there do a fluid change on the rear diff and inspect the gears.

Yea while it's up in the air I will inspect the front and rear gears. They should be fine. The jeep looks as if it has never been off road. Except when she took it out with us on thanksgiving day.
When we bought it a year ago the rear end gears were fine and we changed the diff fluid.
As far as the MML, I spoke to a good friend who has owned and operated an off-road shop for over 30 years said that it was unnecessary unless doing a body lift and actually hurts the angles. If I wanted one he would give me a steal on a teraflex one since he's had 10 of them sitting on the shelf for years and TF wouldn't take them back.

I ran a 4" lift with the tcase drop and it was fine. I do think the better option is not to tcase drop and do a sye and ds. Mml is an awesome upgrade and with that and a 1" bl you can do a tummy tuck skid
