Default My WK

This is going to be the first Jeep that I'm lifting so I don't know too much about doing it. Its the WK 07 Grand Cherokee CRD 3.0. I'm just going to lift it with a ARB 2.25" kit and am going from a 245/65r17 size tire to a bigger 265/70r17. Am I going to lose any power with a diesel engine and how will it effect my gas mileage? Also, am I looking at possible transmission damage? I would love any feedback.

i would imagine you would feel a slight loss of power and see a small decrease in milage. However, the jump up in tire size isn't that big that you should see any transmission damage. Good luck with your project, i hope you post pics when you're done..... never seen a lifted WK before.

To be honest with the beast that the CRD is I doubt you notice much difference. As for damage to the transmission, with the tire change it shouldu be a none issue. Have a similar lift on our Commander and it's a nice different stance. The only thing is you'll run into a bit of a clearance issue with stock rims. Need a slight different offset on teh wheels, or use a wheel spacer, minimum you need is 1.25".

I just traded my JK for an 08 Jeep Green Commander Overland. On order I have a 2.25 Rocky Road lift, 1.5 Spider Trax spacers and 265/70/17 BFG AT.
Of course I'll post pics.

As far as the CRD and lift and tires... Your drive train will be fine. You're only increasing tire size a little over an inch. Depending on tire weight, you should not notice any difference with the CRD.
