Installed Pioneer NEX 7000 Tonight
The Jeep has to be the most easiest stereo upgrade I've ever done. Using the new head unit with the factory AMP, all speakers (except sub/tweeters) were replaced with Kickers. I can hear sound improvement but not by much.
*Metra/Axxess CHTO-03 Harness (pre-wired harness for Steering Wheel Control which is sold separately) - all wires were soldered to the pioneer harness (easy task)
*Axxess ASWC-1 (Steering Wheel Control Module to go in this weekend, all that's need is to plug the module in using the pre-wired harness mentioned above)
*Mic placed next to the driver tweeter pod, wire ran down the side, routed behind the gauge cluster to to the stereo, there are plenty holes/gaps to route the cable
*GPS Antenna mounted behind the light sensor, cable routed in the channel to the left, then follow the same path as Mic cable
*Sirius receiver to go in this weekend but debating if it's worth it, sound quality is shitty in the Jeep and in my Sorento
*Pioneer backup camera to go in this weekend

If you DO install the Sirius/XM receiver, please let us know how it works with the antenna there. My stock '13 has the Sirius/XM radio and it loses signal very easily. I've had other stock and aftermarket satellite receivers that occasionally lost signal, but never one with the frequency of this one. I thought at first I had a short in the system until I realized that the satellite signal would go away in the same place all the time. Two other receivers carry the signal well through those places, so it's the Jeep. I've considered replacing my stock antenna with one of the small ones just like that.

That's because you are still using the factory amp and subs. Amp is very underpowered and introduces some ridiculously bad EQ and the sub is a flimsy paper 8" mounted in a flimsier plastic enclosure. Upgrade your amp and sub and you will see SIGNIFICANT improvement.

I plan to install the xm/sirius antenna in the stock location, which is in the speaker bar area on the passenger side. I'll let you know how it works out, thus far, HD radio is sufficient and sound so much better than Sat. I only listen to a couple channels on XM/Siruis so not sure yet if it's worth the hassle to install.

I understand but I was hope I didn't have to go that route, which is inevitable now.

Installed SiriusXM Tuner/Antenna today, again, was very easy. I did not mount the antenna in the factory location, instead, i have the antenna magnet mounted on roll bar by the speaker bar on the driver side. The wire ran the same route as the mic and GPS wires, to the left, behind tucked behind the gauge cluster. I bundled up the slack and hid it inside the roll bar velcro cover.
Surprising, XM sounds better than Sirius.

Word of warning:
My Pioneer 8000nex is very, very sensitive to even a tiny drop of water. I've had the thing short out twice now. So far, it's always come back after a day of drying out though
