Cibies!!!!!! I am most excited
Did some research, read reviews and finally came to the conclusion that Cibie E-code headlamps were the way to go. Brighter bulbs will only go so far, literally. There is a fellow who goes by the name "Hilldweller" on several of these forums who has an extensive background in vehicle lighting. He has been given top of the line, modern headlights by companies (JW Speaker, IPF and Delta to name a few) to test out and review. He has mentioned several times that he ditches the new style and goes back to his Cibies, closest to comparison were the IPF's, but for cost, nothing beats a Cibie. So, why argue with science.
Long story short, provides far better light left to right and straight ahead, top edge is more crisp, and overall better quality. Paired with Hella 80/100W bulbs and a high output wiring harness, these should be the best lights i've ever used. Possibly even eliminate the need for my 4 7" LED's....only time will tell....
i will do the install over the weekend, with before and after pics on the fancy camera set to hopefully get pictures that mimic the human eye.

headlights dim under acceleration - please help!?
Last week I installed a headlight upgrade:
Cibie E code housing
Hella 80/100w bulbs
Putco harness with relays (Link to harness )
Initial impression was not as pleasing as I had hoped. I have been reading many review on this set up and was greatly dissapointed. Yes the light is directed better with the cibie housings but the brightness, sadly, is comparable to the stock sealed beam housings...
Now, I am noticing the lights dim/fluctuate as I accelerate and continue to fluctuate brightness as I maintain speed. this did not happen with the stock headlights.
I want to think it is the harness, but I checked all connections (which were tight).
So that leads me to the battery? Alternator?
Perhaps the method I have the leads connected to the battery?
i'm by no means an electrical guy, do the lights get power directly from battery or alternator while the car is running?
I am hoping if there is a fix for this fluctuation that it will also help with the overall brightness, as 80w low beam should be substantially brighter than the stock lowbeams.
Any thoughts/advise would be greatly appreciated.
Comparing what mine look like to Hilldweller's photos, its not even close. I will try to get some night shots tonight.
I am hoping Hilldweller can help? he seems to be the headlight guru

new battery and that did nothing, lights still flicker.
So, I bought a Duralast Platinum battery today. Had the old one tested and it tested bad. figured that was the issue but it turns out I was wrong.
at slow speed and idle, there is no dimming.
when I get to about 20mph the dimming/flickering starts and continues as I go faster.
If its the alternator would the headlights dim no matter what speed I am at?
Anyone have any ideas?
