Default In the mud...

I was on my lunch break and thought I'd do a quick trail run
I crossed a small creek and stopped in the middle to see how they would do. As expected the tires are less than stellar in the mud and don't clean out well at all like most all-terrains. After some boring around I wasn't able to get enough bite to pull myself up the small bank and had to winch out

Not what I had in mind

have you had them in the rocks yet? I think the mud performance is typical for a all terrain.

I guess Im confused. Why spend the money for a 37 and get a 35? Why not just buy a true sized 35

not many of those around the 35's end up being 33.5-34". Nittos seem to run true to size but are heavy. My Toyo 35's are bigger then my buddies' BFG, Mickey Thompsons and Mastercrafts so it is always a crap shoot.

Virtually all tires run short!

My "37" Toyo MTs are actually only a true 35. Granted, they do have some miles on them but are really only 35" tall.

My 285/75-16 Cooper AT3s are supposed to be 32.5" according to Cooper but are a really a hair under 31's. Hardly worn so can't blame it on that.

My old 36" Iroks were really only 34.5".

My Pro Comps and MTRKs run short as well.

If you want a true 37, buy 38s or 39s!

I think it's funny how poeple get all wrapped around the axle when it comes to tires running short and say it's a waste of money to buy BFGs because they run short.

I don't do any rock crawling....the most I have seen so far with these tires offroad are tree roots/fallen branches, sandy creek bottoms, and intermediate trails through the woods. There were some marks on the sidewall from rubbing, but nothing was gouged. They did ok and I wouldn't say they are exceptionally better or worse than other tires I have ran. Obviously they can't compare to an MT tire in the mud. On road where I spend 85-90% of my time I would say they are better than average....very quiet, lightweight, good handling in all conditions. I don’t have a lot of miles on them yet, but based on my experience so far I’d buy them again.

Here is why I did....
  1. The only true 35's are Mud Terrains....and these are still bigger
  2. I didn't want a true 37" tire because of the weight
  3. If you shop around you can find 37's close to the same price as 35's
