Default Another... mattgt5 build thread - 2007 JKUR

Well, I bought another Jeep. This one is quite different than my previous 7 or so as it is used, for a while... I bought an 07 JKUR with 111k on it. This Jeep was in pretty good shape inside and out for that many miles and the price was right. The best part about it is that it is paid for with mod money left over. The Jeep is an auto with NAV, Dual Top and came with a 4" Rough Country lift and KM2 35'. It needed some work right off the bat. The tires had 65k miles on them, needless tos ay, they were toast. I ahd to wear my seat belt to make srue the steering wheel shimmy didnt throw me out the Jeep. I had some MT ATZ 35" in the garage from another forum member so I had those installed. This is how she looked when I brought here home.

I got right to work on it as it needed some TLC quickly. Thanks To Dave and crew at Northridge, they got me what I needed in a hurry. First up was the Synergy Tie Rod and Drag Link. This install was a first for me, but with the right tools there is really not much to it. I need to adjust them both a bit, the drag link needs to be let out a little on the standard end and then shortened at the double adjuster as I am close to their 3.25" limit. I have a slight toe out on the tie rod, so i need to shorten the standard end of the tie rod and lengthen the double adjuster side as I am at the minimum adjustment. Before anybody asks, they are not touching...

Last night was drive shaft night. The stock one had no grease in it, surprised it had not fallen out in the road. So, I ordered up some shafts, front and rear, from Carolina Driveline. Great drive shafts, 100% USA made and components, and great price and delivery. Little struggle with the 8 bolts on the T case side, but all in all an easy install. Again, my first time installing a drive shaft.

Congrats on the new rig. Looks like you'll have it fixed up in no time.

Thanks. It won't take too long. With the new house being elevated, I have a large garage to work in now. A lot easier than midnight in the driveway.

Swapped the rear suspension tonight. New synergy 3" coils and OME sport nitro shocks. Will do the front end tomorrow night. I'm loving this full under house garage. Sure beats the driveway at midnight in the dark.

What made you not go with one with a 3.6? I am sure it will look just as nice as the others.

This one and all of its add Ons are paid for. I would prefer a 3.6, but couldn't get a 12+ rubi for under $30k.
