Default Does this sound like invoice to you??

I ordered a Wrangler Unlimited X
Manual
3.73 $44
Power group
Dual Top $1395
Tow hooks $66
Fog lamps $106
Sirius $172

Total invoice per Edmunds: 25,820
Total MSRP per Edmunds: 27,735

The dealer told me he gave me Friends and Family but he said that the 1% below invoice price is $26,111.

Does that sound right to you guys?

A dealer typically will like to make no less than 3% over their actual cost. Their actual cost is invoice minus any holdbacks/incentives.

However, a dealer will try to make 6-8% over actual cost in order to maintain financial health.

You can get all of the real pricing from Consumer Reports. It costs $14, but is well worth it when buying new.

I do not believe that Edmunds adds in the destination charge.

The dealer may also have advertising charges charged on their invoice.

Ask the dealer for a copy of the invoice. If they are being truthful, they will have nothing to hide.

When I was researching my JK I found that Nada.com had the most accurate information. Better than Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book.

I just built it for you...

If it is a 23C, the invoice for the vehicle without options is $21,203 and retail is $22,580. If it is a 24C, the invoice is $21,929 and retail is $23,405.

Destination on both is $660.

Options: (Invoice/Retail)
3.73 -$44/50
Power Group- $704/800
Dual Top- $1395/1585
Fog light- $106/120
Sirius- $172/195

I cannot find anything for the tow hooks. They may come with the fog lights.

Hope this helps.

The dealer I bought from had their own little 299 dollar charge that they added to the top for their on dock fees. I thought it was crap, but couldn't get them to drop it and it wasn't enough to get me to walk away from the exact Jeep I wanted with out having to order it.

Can I ask Where the best place to recieve pricing reviews can be found? Does anyone know about how much I should pay for a 07 4dr 4x4 sahara silver with tow package and 3 piece hard top? My brothers are looking in going halves on one and I cant seem to figure out what he should be paying... By the way the vehicle has the camper hook ups already installed on it and it has about 3000 miles already. Since I bought mine brand new I dont know how much to take of per mile? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Just go to www.kbb.com and look at "used car value" and go from there...it's not terribly accurate, but it'll give you an idea of what it's worth.

*EDIT*....I just looked it up, depending on if it's being sold by an individual or at a dealer, it says between around $29,000 and $31,000.

And to the OP, don't forget that the dealer adds the tax/title, etc. crap too. When we finally agreed on a price, it then went right back up when all the little doo-dads were added. Invoice on mine was only about $1000 below sticker price (supplier discount is part of that too).
