Default gas overflow 2010 stock jku

Whenever I fill up after the gas pump automatically shuts off a surge of gas belches out of the tank. This started about a month ago.. Jeep has 61000 miles on it.. any suggestions? ?

Pretty common in 08 and prior, not sure there was a recall but they would replace it pre 30k for you. Mine didn't start doing it till 36k (08 jku) and it sucks! If you leave it pumping and get back in your car sometimes it will shoot the pump out of the tank when its done. I've just became used to knowing when its close by the sound and shutting it off.

My 08 had a recall for that. They changed my fuel tank and that fixed the problem.

X2, there was a recall for this, though I'm not sure the dates it covered. They replace the entire tank and no questions asked. I had this done about a year ago and I was around 80K miles then. If I recall there is no limit to miles or ownership. best bet is to call the local dealership and have them check via your VIN. I think you can also do this on Jeep.com.

Not a recall. It is an extension of the gas tank warranty regarding fuel spit back; no time or mileage restrictions.
The warranty extension covers certain 2007 and 2008 JKs.
I don't know if the coverage has been expanded.
I have heard it no longer means the entire tank has to be replaced. Chrysler may be supplying the dealers with just the fill tube, which includes the bad check valve.

Good luck! I have the same problem in my 2007 but mine was built in February. I think it starts for March 2007's. I have contacted Chrysler several times and also different dealers. The dealers tell me that I am not covered and contact Chrysler and they don't want to do anything about mine.

I have been able to control it by estimating when the tank is getting full and then the last 2 gallons or so I slow it down. I pull the trigger just enough to start the gas. This seems to work since the flow is slower and it shuts off without the over flow.

I had this exact problem with my 07. I took it into the dealer and it was covered under warranty. I did this about 5 months ago and they no longer replace the whole gas tank. They just replace the fuel filler neck/tube to the tank. I say give the dealership a call. Heres a link to another thread about the same thing. Good luck getting it fixed.

Not sure if the link worked...

The extended warranty has no time or mileage restrictions.
It says the new tube has a check valve. I think the old one did, too, but the new one is supposed to be immune to the ethanol in the gas.
The new fuel tube is part # CNNNX321ac. I have seen them from $30 to $46.

Here is the latest info from my dealer:
