Default The new 5 speed auto

Just curious, who regrets having the auto in the new 3.6 over having a 6 speed. I like the auto, but I don't love it, I guess I'm just a standard guy, but I have auto jeep. Womp womp.

I have 2 2012's and i love my auto, and i tolerate my manual. When the 8 speed auto comes out my manual is gone.

While I am no fan of the new AT, it beats the hell out a manual for my daily commute in traffic. If I ever feel the need I can always use the manual shifting option. As a general rule all of my trucks/SUVs have been autos and my sports cars/sedans have been manuals.

I like a manual trans for zippy, light, sporty vehicles, it's like sailing a small boat, you are more involved with the driving process. For big, heavy vehicles, auto makes it so much easier for towing , low speed trail work, daily driving. The 5spd auto is such an improvement over the 4spd , very responsive ,especialy with the " slap stick".

I like my auto, but I'm scared!,,, My jeep had 2k on it when I put on the 37's with 5.13's,, 200 miles later,,, total failure!!! My planetary gear blew up internally in a flat parking lot. Dealer covered it due to the low miles,, but said if it happened again, they most likely would not. Now I'm always nervous.

Consider yourself lucky with the dealer covering it.

Oh, auto here and like it much better than the 2010 manual I had

I have the 2012 with Auto...Installed Diablosport Tuner...Huge difference...
Instant throttle - shifts are much faster - RPM redline also a little higher...
HP & TRQ increase don't hurt also...
Running 32" in winter - 35" in summer...
